Few individuals embody the connection between Napa Valley vineyards, winemaking excellence, and industry leadership as fully as Michael Silacci. As VP of Winemaking at Opus One for 25 years, Michael has stewarded the winery’s Oakville vineyards with a philosophy that places the land at the heart of every vintage.
Michael’s commitment to Napa Valley extends well beyond the winery. For nearly a decade he served on the board of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers, including two years as President, helping guide the organization’s work in advancing viticultural education, advocacy, and protection of the valley’s agricultural landscape.
As Honorary Chair of the 2026 Harvest STOMP, Michael brings together the roles he has long embraced: winemaker, grower advocate, and steward of Napa Valley’s future. Hosting the event at Opus One reflects both his personal dedication to the region and a shared belief that the strength of Napa Valley begins in its vineyards and the community that sustains them.
